Winters Run Golf Club is proud to be one of Harford County’s premier private golf destinations. Nestled in the heart of Bel Air, Maryland, our course was expertly designed by Raymond F. Loving, Jr., ASGCA, and has been a favorite among local golfers since its opening.
Our classic 18-hole layout offers a fair and enjoyable challenge for players of all skill levels, with multiple sets of tees available for men, women, seniors, and juniors. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just beginning your journey, Winters Run provides a rewarding experience every time you step on the course.

Guest Rules & Expectations
GUEST POLICIES & CHECK IN PROCEDURES
To ensure the best possible experience for everyone at Winters Run Golf Club, we kindly ask that all guests follow the guidelines below:
- Guest Registration:
All guests must be registered in advance of their visit by contacting the Golf Shop at

Upon arriving at the Club, all guests are required to check in at the Golf Shop before beginning their round. At check-in, you will receive the cart and course rules of the day.

PACE OF PLAY
Maintaining a reasonable pace of play is part of the etiquette of golf, a long-standing tradition at Winters Run Golf Club, and a sign of respect for fellow players on the course.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for all, we kindly ask that all groups adhere to our Pace of Play standards:
- Foursome:
⏱ 4 hours or less (18 holes)
⏱ 2 hours or less (9 holes) - Twosome:
⏱ 3 hours, 30 minutes or less (18 holes)
⏱ 1 hour, 30 minutes or less (9 holes)
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us uphold the traditions and enjoyment of the game for everyone at Winters Run.
Golf Course Etiquette
At Winters Run Golf Club, we value the traditions of the game and the enjoyment of all players on the course. To help maintain the quality of our course and the experience for everyone, we ask that all golfers observe the following etiquette:
Course Care
- Repair your play:
- Replace or fill all divots.
- Rake bunkers after use.
- Repair all ball marks on the greens.
- Bunker rakes should be placed inside the bunker, aligned with the direction of play.
Golf Cart Use
- Stay on cart paths whenever possible.
- Keep carts at least 30 yards from all greens and approaches.
- On Par 3 holes, and around tees and greens, carts must remain on paths with all four wheels on the path at all times.
Pace of Play
- Be mindful of your position on the course:
- If your group is playing slowly, has an open hole ahead, and is holding up players behind, please allow faster groups to play through or make efforts to close the gap.
Player Requirements
- Each player must have their own set of clubs in a golf bag—no sharing.
Cell Phone Use
- Cell phones are permitted, but must be kept on silent or vibrate mode.
- Please avoid making or receiving calls on the course, in the clubhouse, or elsewhere on the property unless in case of emergency, so as not to disturb others.

Dress Policy
Winters Run Golf Club is committed to upholding the traditions and standards of the game. All members and guests are expected to adhere to the following dress code when on the golf course, practice facilities, and in the clubhouse.
On The Course And Practice Areas
✅ Acceptable Attire
Men:
- Bermuda shorts
- Golf brand pants
- Collared shirts
- Mock/turtlenecks, sweaters, 1/4 zips
- Golf brand hoodies or athletic jackets
- Golf shoes or sneakers
Women:
- Skorts, shorts, and golf/athletic brand capris or pants
- Golf brand dresses
- Leggings: solid or printed worn under a skort/skirt/shorts OR golf-specific leggings with front/back pockets worn alone
- Golf racerback shirts (must have a collar)
- Mock/turtlenecks, sweaters, 1/4 zips
- Golf brand hoodies or athletic jackets
- Golf shoes or sneakers
- Collarless shirts must have sleeves; collared shirts may be sleeveless
❌ Unacceptable Attire
- Cargo shorts or pants
- Blue jeans (on course)
- Cutoffs
- See-through or mesh leggings
- Sweat suits
- T-shirts (with or without writing)
- Tank tops
- Non-golf brand hoodies with logos/writing (except for course logos)
- Swimsuits
Additional Guidelines
- Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
- Hats must be worn forward.
- Only golf shoes with soft spikes or sneakers are permitted.
- Pants, shorts, and other bottoms must fit appropriately — not excessively loose or tight.
- If you’re unsure whether an outfit is acceptable, please consult a Golf Professional.
- As a general guideline, Golf Shop merchandise reflects acceptable attire.
In the Clubhouse & Golf Shop
- Collared shirts are recommended. Must wear appropriate golf apparel, to exclude short & long sleeve t-shirts, at all times.
- Casual attire is permitted, including jeans that are clean, neat, and in good taste.
- Cut-offs and workout attire are not allowed
- Hats are permitted to be worn, but must face forward at all times
- Proper footwear is required at all times: Open-toe shoes are permitted.
- Smoking, electronic cigarettes, and/or vaping are not permitted in or adjacent to the Clubhouse or Patio Areas.
